Canada’s amazing Allison Crowe (vocals, piano, guitar, fiddle & bodhran) is joined by surprise musical guests to bring “Tidings” – music for the season & all-time.

Tidings delivers comforts and joys – stirring together traditional Christmas and holiday favourites with an organic blend of rock, jazz, folk, Celtic, roots and soul.  Two nights – December 8 & 9, 2017 – at the RAC!

Allison Crowe regularly travels from her Corner Brook home to delight audiences across Europe and North America. Allison’s writing a book of prose poetry, “Fluttering”, and composing songs for a new album, “Rare Birds” (her 22nd release on Rubenesque Records). She’s Musical Director of “Newfoundland Vinyl”, a rollicking hit at TNL’s Gros Morne Theatre Festival. Other adventures include Allison’s cameo in the Hollywood Superman blockbuster “Man of Steel” and touring as featured singer/pianist with Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Allison’s even appeared as a clue/answer in Cryptic Crossword (Cox & Rathvon’s iconic puzzler.)

Uniting a range of rich cultural traditions, Allison and friends deliver fun and musical wonderment this season in the cozy Rotary Arts Centre with its new baby grand.

Allison Crowe’s original tunes are sung by the chimney, together with gifts from the modern canon of Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Ryan’s Fancy, The Beatles and Patty Griffin. A sleighful of traditional tunes and classics is bound to feature a selection that includes “Silent Night”, “Soul Cake”, “The First Noel”, “Wexford Carol”, “In the Bleak Midwinter” and plenty more delights – perhaps even a plum from Broadway!

“Allison Crowe’s voice is as much a manifestation of Christmas spirit today as Bing Crosby’s was in 1942. It’s as warm as an open fire; as gorgeous as snow-frosted evergreens; as tender as that hug you give your mother on Christmas day” – The Pique

“Be prepared to be amazed” – ChristmasReviews
